New Video Premiere: Matt Millard – Take Me Anywhere

Today, we’re delighted to bring you the premiere of Matt Millard’s new track and video, for Take Me Anywhere, which features on the Take Me Anywhere EP – arriving on streaming/download platforms on 2nd March

Take a watch below…

Take Me Anywhere is the title track from the Birmingham singer-songwriter’s debut EP – it’s a raw and honest song both lyrically and musically, written in a moment of struggle and uncertainty,” explains Millard. “The song is a plea to break away from a current situation, to seek escape and to find something new. The EP has recurring themes throughout, but ultimately portrays the emotions felt when we reach the ending of youth and a ‘coming of age’. It focuses on the struggles and frustrations we face being thrown into adulthood, and how at times our dreams and ambitions can feel impossible to reach”

Drawing influences from both recent folk revival artists Justin Vernon and Ben Howard, as well as post-punk bands Joy Division and Interpol, Matt’s music combines intricate acoustic melodies with a warm yet melancholy vocal and sits somewhere between the two genres. Early demos Berlin and Palace were followed by his first official single release Salt, offering a more textured and atmospheric production that was championed by the BBC

With a loyal following in the city, Matt will celebrate the release of the new EP and single with a show at O2 Academy Birmingham on 7th March
