Last Autumn saw the release of The Art Of Pretending To Swim, Villagers fourth album that was shortlisted for Ireland’s Choice Music Prize last week

On TAOPTS, Conor O’Brien balanced a new-found soulfulness with lyrical themes that embraced existential fears and hopes in this desperate, technologically-centred dystopian age, all while writing effortlessly accessible tunes

Today, he has shared a new visualiser for album track, Real Go-Getter…

On Real Go-Getter, amidst wheezing synths, O’Brien sings “Give all you got | And if you’re feeling like you’ve had enough | There’s only one way and it’s always up”, it represents an internal pep talk and a mantra for Conor

Following an extensive European tour at the end of 2018, Villagers will play a string of UK dates including London’s Roundhouse and has also announced a huge summer headline show at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens…

Tues 26th Feb – Pontio Arts Centre, Bangor
Thurs 28th Feb – The Roundhouse, London
Fri 1st March – Cathedral, Manchester
Sat 2nd March – Wylam Brewery, Newcastle
Fri 12th July – Iveagh Gardens, Dublin
