New Release & Video: Native Harrow – Can’t Go On Like This

“Happier Now is about becoming your own advocate. Realising that maybe you are different in several or a myriad of ways and that that is okay. And further, it is about me becoming a grown woman.” Devin Tuel, the creative energy and expressive force behind Native Harrow’s third album, ponders the incentive and origin of the album.

To accompany the release of the album last week, Native Harrow has shared a new music video for the track ‘Can’t Go On Like This’…

Tuel explained to Rockshot how the video is “inspired by running away from life for a few hours, and childhood. Stephen and I filmed it ourselves and we wanted to capture a freedom that only bike riding in the sunshine can bring you. The song touches on how we all tend to get bogged down in our day to day lives whether that be work, emotions, or stress and in those moments we often deal with it by fantasising about simpler times or what life could be like if we followed the dreams of our childhood. In the video you see me heading out in the early morning to go on a ride, tossing a bouquet of flowers back to the earth, and standing in a warm sunlit river. I cruise through the woods on my bike, abandon it and start running, and finally find myself lost in dance. The video ends with me turning to look back signalling that these day dreams end and reality always comes back into focus.”

Native Harrow heads to the UK later this month in support of the album’s release. The month-long tour will include a slot at The Long Road festival plus in-store performances at Rough Trade shops in London, Bristol and Nottingham….
