Historian, the cherished sophomore LP from Lucy Dacus, celebrates its five year anniversary. In conjunction, Dacus unveils the first-ever “Night Shift” music video, directed by Jane Schoenbrun and featuring Dacus, and Jasmin Savoy Brown (Yellowjackets), among others.
“In five years I hope the songs feel like covers // Dedicated to new lovers,” Dacus sings in “Night Shift,” the Historian album opener and a longtime fan favorite about believing in and manifesting the future you desire.
The song’s long overdue video was filmed amongst friends new and old over several days at the Poconos Palace in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. It is a stunning and heart-warming treat for fans who have watched Dacus grow from her Richmond days to bona-fide indie rock stardom.
The Historian five year anniversary red vinyl will be out May 26th via Matador. This limited edition version features Dacus’ first draft of the original artwork.
