New Release & Video: Jenny O. – Old Habits

Jenny O. releases her album New Truth, this Friday 7th August. Before the new album drops, using just a green screen and some construction paper, Jenny has crafted a psychedelic journey of a music video for one of the standout songs off New Truth.

Beginning as a lone organ ballad, “Old Habits” opens up with the wurlitzer and rhythm section gliding over Jenny’s introspective lyrics about the pitfalls and triumphs that come with the long, arduous road to self-improvement and growth. She says: “I made this video using construction paper. I was able to finish it because tour [with Vanessa Carlton] got canceled. It’s about the human experience, the never-ending struggle, learning to accept and enjoy the slow and flawed journey toward growth.”

Over the past decade, Jenny O. has sung on recordings by Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Father John Misty, Conor Oberst and Jonathan Wilson. She’s also toured with an even broader range of artists, including FJM, Rodriguez, Leon Russell, and most recently, Faye Webster. She was slated to tour with Vanessa Carlton throughout April and June, but those dates have been postponed.
