New Release & Tour: Brittany Howard – Jaime / History Repeats

Alabama Shakes, Thunderbitch and Bermuda Triangle frontwoman / all round vocal-genius Brittany Howard, has announced details of her new solo record

Jaime is due for release on September 20th and comes four years after the Shakes released their sophomore record Sound & Color. The album features Alabama Shakes bassist Zac Cockrell, drummer Nate Smith and Robert Glasper on keys

Today’s announcement arrives accompanied by ‘History Repeats’, the first single to be taken from the new record…

Howard has described the track as: “as much a personal song as it is a song about us as a human species. Our times of success may propel us forward, but our repeating failures hold us back from evolving into harmony”

Jaime is named after her late older sister, who died of cancer when just a teenager. In a statement about the record, Howard states…
