With the aim of raising valuable funds for local homeless charity Simon On The Streets this Winter, Leeds based music-videographers Anthologies, and record label/promoters Hide & Seek have collaborated on an ambitious festive music project unveiled this December.
Entitled This Christmas (With Anthologies And Hide & Seek), it brings together many of the finest musicians from the flourishing melting-pot that is the Leeds music scene, as they capably tackle the challenge of performing a Christmas song in their own vastly varying but equally brilliant ways.
Everyone who donates to the project via the link below will automatically receive a link to download the compilation, which brings together recordings from the fifteen bands involved. Moreover, donaters will also be entered into a special Christmas raffle.
Visit www.JustGiving.com/AnthologiesChristmas2012 for more info and to donate to this wonderful cause.
The tracklisting features something for both the biggest lovers of Christmas, and its greatest cynics – from These Men’s lush bash barbershop tones,to the stunning Fossil Collective version of The Power Of Love, to the morose, cold-reality of War Glamour Girls’ The Second Stave.
There is an abundance of creativity throughout, including a reworked Christmas classic, Silent Night, performed by TFFT favourites, Dancing Years. And what’s more, we are thrilled to share an exclusive stream of this gorgeous recording, which you can listen to below…
The project will culminate in a live gig at the Brudenell Social Club, Leeds, this Thursday – December 13th. Headlined by Dan Beesley and The SSSSS, it will also feature contributors to the project in the shape of These Men, Grant K. Fennel, and The Backyards…tickets are available now via all the usual online outlets, for just £4.
