For this Valentine’s Day, solo artist and friend of TFFT, Dunebug, has released her fitting new single, titled ‘Alone Like Me’, dedicated to those ‘fellow lonely people’.

Talking about the track, Chi Limpiroj, aka Dunebug, states: “‘Alone Like Me’ is a bleak insight into the complexities of my love life (or lack of), due to past difficult relationships coming back to haunt me. It’s about the struggle of being involved with someone who is perfectly lovely but pushing them away at the smallest hint of it becoming anything even remotely serious and ultimately being left alone, again. Happy Valentine’s Day!”

Take a listen to this beautiful Valentine’s gift, below…

Dunebug is the solo project of Manchester-born Chi Limpiroj, DIY musician in every sense of the word. Self-taught in guitar and singing, and with a background in sound recording, Chi combined these skills to craft her first Dunebug EP in the comfort of her own bedroom.

Musical influences include Cat Power, Feist, Beach House, Soccer Mommy, Japanese Breakfast, Snail Mail and Jay Som. Her previous band and TFFT Live act, Chi & the Twelfth Wall, supported the likes of Lucy Rose, Slow Club and Roddy Woomble around Manchester and Leeds, as well as playing at Magneet festival in Amsterdam.

Dunebug’s debut self-titled EP echoes her feelings of love, loss, and everything in between, a sound that has matured alongside her as a person since the Chi & the Twelfth Wall days. Following the break-up of the first band, Chi had a five-year fall out with music until one day after moving down to London, Dunebug was born after picking up a guitar for the first time in years, and has recently assembled a live band for live performances.

Talking to TFFT, she told us: “After a five year break from music, I honestly can’t believe how over the moon I am to be back into it again, I thought I was done with it. This EP delves into my love life (or lack of) and unrequited feelings; rejection and a yearning to be seen, a combination of butterflies and sheer agony – a feeling I’m sure many of us have experienced at some point.”
