Singer-songwriter, Conor Kilkelly, left Ireland for Berlin an unknown musician in 2015. Since then, he’s now recognized as an “integral part of [Berlin’s] culture scene”, an emerging Dark Folk scene that meshes macabre lyrics, cabaret style gigs and smoke-laden intimate, but full to the rafter folk sessions.
Kilkelly’s debut album was released on all digital platforms on December 25th, 2019. The album evokes the emotional scars of Ireland’s relationship to the catholic church, as well as the substances which have suppressed and sustained the feeling of dread and loss present in the state since the famine.
