Favourites 2013

2013…what a bloomin’ year!

We gained a future King, but lost a great leader in Mandela…we also lost some lass called Margaret. Alex Ferguson and David Beckham retired, Murray won Wimbledon, and Lance Armstrong, Nigella Lawson and the Mayor of Toronto did drugs. Robin Thicke had Blurred Lines, whilst Oscar Pistorius had blurry eyes. Devastation ripped through The Phillipines, Nairobi, Woolwich, Bangladesh, Oklahoma, Glasgow, Syria and the streets of Boston, whilst Kim Jong-Un went bat-shit crazy. Same-sex marriage was finally given the thumbs up, meteors fell to earth and following the horsemeat scandal, we turned to making burgers from stem cells. A new Pope came on the scene, as did a bunch of Pandas, but we lost some great heroes in the form of Ray Manzarek, David Frost, Doris Lessing and Lou Reed.

However, there were a whole bunch of positives in the world of music as well, with some stunning breakthrough artists taking to the airwaves, legends taking to the stage and recording studios, and the release of some simply stunning records

And so, keeping to our annual tradition, below are our and your Favourites 2013…

Our Favourites

We would also like to add the soundtrack to ‘The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty’ to the list,
which included some sensational tracks from Jose Gonzales and his wonderful band Junip,
who throughly deserve a mention!

Your Favourites

And that, my friends, concludes the year…
We hope you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and we will see you in 2014!

All the best from TFFT
