Tommy Ashby has recently been cutting his teeth behind the scenes as a session musician for the likes of Jamie Lawson and Nina Nesbitt, as well as recording collaborations with Chris Bond (Ben Howard), but is now ready to step to the fore

Recorded in Ashby’s own bedroom (“I like getting up early in the morning and recording before my voice realises that it is awake”), and produced at Abbey Road Studios by Grammy Award winning producer & engineer Sam Okell, Guilty displays desert rock blues fuelled by a powerful heartbeat-like rhythm

Speaking of the lyrical concept, Ashby shares: “Guilty is obviously about infidelity and is told from the guilty party’s point of view. I wanted to look at how people approach telling someone they love what they have done and the latent love left behind after the confession. I find it interesting how some people can recover and still be contented; I always wonder whether the confession forever hangs over their relationship”

Guilty is out now on Wow & Flutter Records and marking the single’s release, Tommy Ashby will play The Groucho Club in London on Monday 13th November, with more dates to be announced imminently
