New Release: Tom Williams – What A Shame

Taken from his recently-released album All Change, Tom Williams shares new single What A Shame. Have a watch of his acoustic session, here…

Having taken a break from the music industry to teach, Tom was offered a week-long artist residency in the music department of Leeds Beckett University. On the condition that the university provided him with a band, who turned out to be six 19-year-old music tech students, Tom accepted the post and entered into one of the most creatively inspiring periods of his career

What A Shame is a product of this unique process; written in one of Tom’s songwriting workshops with a 15-year-old student. As Tom explains, “Sam and I wrote his version of the lyrics that correlated with his life at the time. ‘What a shame, I’m so bad at school/going to fail my exams’. I kept playing the song to myself that week and decided to re-write the song with my own lyrics; ‘What a shame, I can’t sleep at night”

In support of his recent album, Tom will also embark upon a seven-date headline tour across the UK, culminating at London’s Bush Hall on November 30th
